Jonathan Hague- Managing Director

Over 19 years’ experience in the construction industry.

Jon has an impressive range of construction knowledge including commercial, domestic and restoration projects. His experience includes both pre- and post-project management, building and quantity surveying, cost estimating, CDM co-ordinating, contracts management, business  management, trade performance

Jon first trained and worked as a Carpenter Joiner for Randall Construction working on various projects including a large refit to the children's ward at Torbay Hospital, various school extensions and large domestic residence refurbishments.  He progressed on to site and contracts management with Michael Thorne Construction.  Contract values ranged from £1,000 to £500,000.  While at MTC Jonathan set up and managed a Department overseeing managers working on contracts.  Customers included: The National Trust, Devon Community Housing, Sanitary Housing, Davies Chartered Loss Adjusters, Darts Farm

In March 2008 Jonathan joined Allied Solutions Chartered Surveyors Ltd, and worked as a surveyor/project manager heading up a regional office servicing a number of national insurance loss adjusting companies as well as private clients.  He set up the South West office for Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset.  He was responsible for producing specifications, reporting, project management, CDM co-ordination and contract administration, Contract values ranged  from £20,000 to £2 million.  Projects included:  a large Manor House fire reinstatement works, renewing a large electric cable across the Looe Estuary, CDM co-ordinator for a large factory extension in Honiton and a new fallen stock facility at Dulverton.

In 2010 played a key role in developing Allied Renewables (with the directors of Allied Solutions),  specifically set up following the commencement of the Government backed feed- in tariff to service the growing demand for renewal energy in the UK.

Jonathan joined Woofenden Construction Ltd as Operations Director in April 2011and during his 2 and half years there he achieved the agreed objective to assist with business development, implement strong working systems and  bring in new and consistent work streams.

In 2013 having fulfilled his objectives with Woofenden Construction ltd, Jonathan felt the time was right to start up his own business (Project Management and Building etc) with Glen Woods his business partner and good friend.

 

Glen Woods - Operations Director

Over 15 years’ experience in the construction industry.

Glen served his apprenticeship with Hughes Woodworks, a local cabinet maker that specialised in restoration.  After completing his apprenticeship and obtaining a high standard of carpentry and joinery skills Glen joined a larger construction firm to widen his commercial site knowledge.  Here he worked on various large projects including schools, prisons, police stations as well as residential properties.  It quickly became apparent that Glen had good communication skills and a customer focused approach in all he did which mean he was increasingly asked to liaise with clients and manage projects. To broaden his experience further Glen accepted a site manager’s position at Hodges and Bridle where he worked on smaller projects as well as new builds including ‘Grand Design’ style properties.

After several years working with this reputable local firm, Glen set up in partnership with another skilled carpenter and ran a successful small business for over 6 years.  This business undertook extensions and home renovations for private clients but the majority of the projects were working with the National Trust.  Property’s refurbished or converted included Killerton House, Saltram House and Anthony House (a conversion for use in the Hollywood movie ‘Alice in Wonderland’ which has become a popular visitor attraction).

When Glen’s business partner decided to fulfil a life time dream of emigrating to Australia, Glen decided to accepted a position on the management team of Woofenden Construction ltd where he mainly worked on high-end Devon property’s that had been unfortunately damaged by flood or fire.

Glen is now running his own business (Project Management and Building etc) with Jonathan Hague (formally Operations Director for Woofenden Construction Ltd) his business partner and good friend where he feels he can continue to focus on delivering good customer care with excellent project management and a desirable quality finish.
